How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Production Operative - Rotating Shifts - Ongoing Work

    We are recruiting for Production Operative roles in the Castle Vale area of Birmingham. You will be working for a leading manufacturer producing floor, wall and ceiling frameworks for modular housing projects across the UK.

    Details of a Production Operative:

    Rate of Pay: £13.45 to £15.47 per hour, depending on the shift
    Hours of Work: Rotating morning, afternoon and night shifts

    Morning Shift: Monday to Friday, 6am-2pm
    Afternoon Shift: Monday to Friday, 2pm-10pm

    Night Shift: 10pm-6am
    Location: Castle Vale, Birmingham, B35
    Duration: Ongoing
    Candidates must be flexible and able to work the required rotating shift pattern.

    Role of a Production Operative:

    Using hand tools and air-powered tools safely

    Operating saws, cutting machines and other production equipment

    Positioning parts and sub-assemblies using templates and measurements

    Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

    Working to dimensional and quality standards

    Following Standard Operating Procedures

    Carrying out production and assembly duties

    Following all health and safety procedures

    Working independently and as part of a production team

    Maintaining a clean and organised working area

    Requirements of a Production Operative:

    Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment

    Experience operating machinery or using hand and power tools

    Transferable experience from construction, carpentry, roofing, bricklaying or similar practical roles may be considered

    Able to understand measurements and engineering drawings

    Comfortable carrying out physical and manual duties

    Flexible and able to work rotating shifts
