How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    What You'll Be Doing

    With this attractive opportunity, you will get a chance to:
    Conduct detailed inspections of aerospace engine components and modules.

    Use precision measurement tools and techniques to ensure compliance with aerospace standards.

    Work closely with production, development, and overhaul teams to maintain quality and safety.

    Identify and support process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

    Who We're Looking For

    To be successful in this role you will need to:

    Essential you have completed a time-served apprenticeship, ideally with relevant aerospace inspection skills.

    Be qualified to NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2, or equivalent.

    Have experience in aerospace strip and build procedures.

    Be proficient in using measurement tools and techniques.

    Have experience with conditioning/sentencing aerospace parts and assemblies.

    Be computer literate with the ability to work with digital inspection tools.

    Additional desirable skills include:

    Experience with engine intrascoping and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) inspection.

    Knowledge of repair limits and aerospace component sentencing.

    Training in risk assessment and COSHH.

    The ability to train others and support team development.

    To work for the Rolls-Royce Defence business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.
