How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Keeping production moving takes more than fixing problems when they happen. As Engineering Manager, you’ll lead from the front, combining hands-on technical expertise with team leadership to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime and keep a fast-paced food manufacturing operation performing at its best.

You’ll lead a team of 4–5 Multi-Skilled Engineers, but this isn’t a desk-based position. You’ll be alongside your team when technical challenges arise, while also taking ownership of preventative maintenance, continuous improvement and engineering standards across the site.

    What’s in it for you

    £60,000 annual salary.
A genuinely hands-on leadership position where you can influence performance on the factory floor.
The opportunity to lead and develop a team of 4–5 Multi-Skilled Engineers.
Ownership of improvements that directly affect equipment reliability, efficiency and production downtime.
Exposure to machinery installations, commissioning and engineering improvement projects.
A key position within a fast-paced food manufacturing operation.
    Your responsibilities as Engineering Manager

Lead planned preventative and reactive maintenance, supporting fault finding and major breakdown resolution.
Manage the site PPM programme, ensuring maintenance activity supports maximum plant availability.
Lead, develop and provide technical guidance to a team of 4–5 Multi-Skilled Engineers.
Analyse recurring equipment failures and implement improvements that increase reliability and reduce downtime.
Monitor engineering KPIs including OEE, downtime and PPM completion, ensuring documentation remains accurate.
Maintain Health & Safety, Food Safety and GMP standards while overseeing contractors, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
What we’re looking for in an Engineering Manager

Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding and maintenance knowledge within a manufacturing environment.
Experience leading and developing a multi-skilled engineering team.
Knowledge of PPM programmes, equipment reliability, OEE and continuous improvement.
Understanding of Health & Safety requirements, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Experience working within food manufacturing, including Food Safety and GMP standards.
If you want a hands-on Engineering Manager position where you can lead a skilled team, solve technical problems and make a measurable difference to site performance, apply today
