How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Keeping production moving means solving problems quickly, preventing the next breakdown and finding smarter ways to improve performance. As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to make that impact across a busy food manufacturing environment, taking ownership of maintenance, fault finding and equipment improvements.
     
    You'll work across production and process equipment, combining hands-on maintenance with continuous improvement while helping minimise downtime and maintain high standards across the site.

    Your responsibilities as Mechanical Engineer

    Complete planned preventative and reactive maintenance across production equipment
    Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
    Repair, maintain and improve production machinery to support reliable site performance
    Deliver equipment installations, modifications and continuous improvement projects
    Maintain Health & Safety, Food Safety and GMP standards while completing accurate maintenance documentation
    Work closely with Production and Technical teams to resolve equipment issues and improve performance 
    What we’re looking for in a Mechanical Engineer

    Time-served Multi-Skilled Engineer with food manufacturing or FMCG experience
    HNC or equivalent electrical qualification, with strong fault-finding skills and the ability to read electrical drawings
    Practical experience with welding, fabrication and pneumatic systems
    PLC fault finding and inverter experience
    Experience within meat or food processing, supervisory exposure or a Health & Safety qualification would be advantageous 
    Working hours: 2:00pm–10:00pm
