How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Director of Strategy and Architecture

    *Multiple domains (applications, data, infrastructure, integration, AI/ML, cloud, security).
    *Hands-on experience with data platforms, analytics, and emerging technology adoption.
    *Lead Technology due diligence for M&A and support integration planning.​

    *Must be able to attend Stevenage twice a week

    The role is budgeted at up to £150k (this is our top end budget and would need to be a standout candidate).

    In addition, includes;

    Company car or allowance of £720 per month
    Bonus up to 3 months salary
    Family cover healthcare

    What will you be doing?
    A rare opportunity to establish an architecture and strategy capability that is embraced by the business and demonstrates value through innovative technology solution.

    Working closely with Executive stakeholders, business leaders and delivery teams to ensure technology is well designed, and delivered to modern architectural principles. Define the Enterprise technology strategy and target architecture. Establish and lead, a high performing architecture team.

    Develop multi-year technology road maps aligned to organisational priorities. Provide technology advice to the Leadership team and champion composable architecture, cloud-native platforms, AI enabled services and automation.

    Lead Technology due diligence for M&A and support integration planning.

    What you'll bring:
    *Proven experience as a Head of Enterprise Architecture (or similar senior architecture role) within a complex or rapidly scaling organisation.
    *Track record of establishing architecture frameworks in environments with low standards and maturity.
    *Strong knowledge across multiple domains (applications, data, infrastructure, integration, AI/ML, cloud, security).
    *Hands-on experience with data platforms, analytics, and emerging technology adoption.
    *Excellent ability to communicate architectural concepts in business-friendly language across all stakeholders.
    *Influential, pragmatic, and delivery-focused-able to balance strategic ambition with operational realities.
    *Sector experience desirable but not essential
    *Visionary but pragmatic and able to set clear direction whilst delivering tangible outcomes
    *Collaborative and able to bring together diverse stakeholders and create alignment

    Qualifications
    *Degree level education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business administration, or a related field.
    *Enterprise Architecture Framework knowledge e.g. TOGAF
    *Cloud certifications e.g. Microsoft Azure
    *Data & Analytics familiarly and a working knowledge of data and governance framework
