How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Rate: £22.20 per hour (PAYE) OR £28.22 per hour (Umbrella)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Response Repairs Surveyor to join a busy property services team delivering responsive repairs across a large residential housing portfolio.

This is an excellent opportunity for a surveyor with experience in social housing or residential property maintenance who enjoys a varied role, balancing site inspections with office and home-based working.

    The Role

As a Response Repairs Surveyor, you will be responsible for inspecting occupied residential properties, identifying repair requirements, raising works orders and monitoring repairs through to completion. You'll work closely with contractors, residents and internal teams to ensure repairs are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

This is a hybrid position with office attendance required on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with remote working available on the remaining weekdays.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out inspections of residential properties to diagnose repair issues.

    * Produce clear specifications and raise works orders for responsive repairs.

    * Monitor contractor performance and the progress of repair works.

    * Ensure repairs are completed in line with quality, safety and compliance standards.

    * Assess and manage issues relating to damp and mould.

    * Demonstrate a sound understanding of asbestos awareness and associated procedures.

    * Provide excellent customer service, communicating clearly and professionally with residents.

    * Maintain accurate records and survey reports.

    About You

    * Previous experience as a Repairs Surveyor, Building Surveyor or Property Surveyor within housing or property maintenance.

    * Strong knowledge of responsive repairs and building maintenance.

    * Good understanding of damp, mould diagnosis and remedial works.

    * Asbestos awareness with the ability to identify and manage potential risks appropriately.

    * Experience of raising and managing repair works through contractors.

    * Calm, thoughtful and customer-focused approach, particularly when working with residents in occupied homes.

    * Excellent organisational and communication skills.

    * Full UK driving licence is desirable.

If you're an experienced surveyor looking for your next contract opportunity with a well-established public sector organisation, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today for immediate consideration
