How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    About the role of Quantity Surveyor

    As Quantity Surveyor, you will be joining the commercial team of reputable Main Contractor who have a turnover of nearly £900m. You will be assisting a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a £70m healthcare scheme in Central London where you will be based.

    The company are privately owned and have been growing in the construction industry for over 150 years with over 5 offices across the UK. They predominately focus on leisure, lab, student accommodation, healthcare, education and commercial projects valued from £20m - £100m.

    Key Responsibilities for Quantity Surveyor

    Include but not limited to:

    Attend estimating handover meeting to gain an understanding of tender to live jobs process
    Attend site regularly to familiarise and gain understanding of the project
    Assess variation claims received engaging with the site team
    Prepare and issue CVR's
    Final account process including the issue, negotiation and agreement with the Senior Quantity Surveyor
    Identify and collate appropriate tender documents and send out trade enquiries to subcontractors for pricingKey Requirements for Quantity Surveyor

    Live within commutable distance to Central London
    Ideally 4 - 5 years of experience at a Main Contractor
