How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Events Manager

    Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 per annum depending on experience

    Contract: 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract

    Location & Working Pattern 35 hours per week: Predominantly home-based, with travel across England and Wales to support conferences, awards, meetings and events. Occasional travel to London and Stockport offices will also be required. Flexibility to travel is essential.

    Our client is the national membership organisation representing Local Authority Building Control teams across England and Wales. Through a diverse programme of conferences, awards ceremonies, professional training, webinars and national recruitment assessment centres, they bring together professionals from across the sector to share knowledge, celebrate success and support the future of building control.

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Events Manager to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

    This is more than an events delivery role. It's an opportunity to lead a nationally recognised events programme, manage a talented team and work closely with senior leaders to continually enhance the quality and impact of events.

    The Role

    You'll take ownership of planning and delivering a varied programme of events from concept through to completion, ensuring every event is delivered to the highest professional standard.

    Working closely with colleagues across the business, you'll lead a small team of Event Coordinators, manage suppliers, venues, budgets and logistics, while building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and external partners.

    No two weeks are the same. From flagship conferences and prestigious awards ceremonies to webinars, professional training and recruitment assessment centres, you'll play a key role in delivering events that make a genuine difference to members and the wider profession.

    About You

    You'll be an experienced Events Manager with a proven track record of delivering a diverse programme of professional events and leading people successfully.

    You'll also bring:

    Previous line management experience.
    Experience delivering conferences, awards ceremonies, webinars or large-scale professional events.
    Excellent project management and organisational skills.
    Experience managing suppliers, venues, contracts and event budgets.
    The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.Just as importantly, you'll be someone who:
