How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    • Build trusted relationships and develop a strong understanding of business priorities and challenges
    • Lead and manage complex employee relations matters, ensuring compliance and effective risk management
    • Coach and support managers to develop confidence and capability in people management
    • Act as an escalation point for people-related queries across areas including onboarding, probation, family leave, flexible working and employee departures
    • Support business change initiatives and organisational projects, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement throughout
    • Contribute to salary review and reward processes
    • Monitor and interpret employment law developments, translating legislative changes into practical policy and process improvements
    • Lead and support a range of HR projects, policy reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
    • Draft and review complex HR documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance
    • Monitor absence management activity and support managers with appropriate interventions
    • Provide guidance on hybrid working and workplace attendance matters
    • Analyse people data and workforce trends to support decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement
    • Support diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, reporting requirements and action planning
    • Contribute to the ongoing development of HR policies, processes and ways of working

    Person Specification

    • Proven HR generalist experience across the full employee lifecycle
    • Strong business partnering skills with the ability to build credibility quickly across a wide stakeholder group
    • Experience providing commercially focused advice to managers and senior leaders
    • Strong employee relations experience and a sound understanding of UK employment law
    • Experience managing complex and sensitive people matters with good judgement and discretion
    • Previous involvement in HR projects, organisational change or process improvement initiatives
    • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
    • Analytical approach with experience using people data to inform recommendations and decisions
    • Collaborative, adaptable and solutions-focused mindset
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
    • CIPD qualification, or working towards, would be advantageous

    What's on Offer

    • Opportunity to join a respected professional services organisation during a period of change and development
    • Broad and varied HR remit with significant stakeholder exposure
    • Hybrid working model
    • Collaborative and supportive culture
    • Exposure to a range of strategic and operational people initiatives
    • Competitive salary and benefits package

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional seeking a varied contract role where they can make an immediate impact while partnering closely with leaders across the business.
