How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    🗂️📋 Office Administrator – Construction / Built Environment 🛠️🦺

    Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 + benefits (Private health)

    Hours: 40 hours per week (08:00hrs – 17:00hrs)

Start: Immediate (willing to wait for notice period)

    Contract: Permanent / Full-Time – Office-based (5 days per week onsite)

Location: East London - Barking (FREE PARKING ONSITE)

🚀 Culture Guru is partnering with a long-established contractor in the built environment who, after more than two decades, has built a reputation as a trusted partner across both public and private sector projects. Based in East London, they're looking for a genuinely brilliant Office Administrator to become the beating heart of a busy, growing team.

💫 This is not a quiet corner-of-the-office admin job. You'll be the person everyone comes to – the one who knows where things are, what's booked, who's starting on Monday and why the printer is doing that thing again. Supporting a team of around 90 people and working closely with Heads of Department and senior leadership, you'll keep the office (and everyone in it) running like clockwork.

⭐ There's real scope here to improve how things are done. If you're the sort of person who spots a clunky process and quietly fixes it, you'll fit right in.

🤓 Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

    • Being the go-to for day-to-day office life – keeping the place well-run, well-stocked and working properly, and handling post, calls, correspondence and meeting room bookings
    • Managing office suppliers and contracts (stationery, print, phones, facilities), keeping an eye on value for money
    • Supporting new starters end-to-end – ID checks, paperwork, IT and equipment, kit and workwear, and making sure day one actually feels welcoming
    • Keeping employee records accurate and confidential – personnel files, annual leave, absence and other people data
    • Sourcing and booking training, and keeping training records spot-on
    • Helping plan the good stuff – summer and Christmas parties, team-building days and company presentations
    • Supporting internal audits and compliance activity, and helping keep quality and health & safety documentation in order
    • Coordinating company vehicles – servicing, MOTs, repairs and the admin that comes with them
    • Preparing, formatting and maintaining company documents, forms and records
    • Providing admin support to Heads of Department and Senior Management, and taking minutes when needed
    • Updating and circulating the monthly salary allocation register
    • Working with senior leaders to improve admin processes and champion best practice across the business

😍 Ideal attributes of the successful candidate:

    • Solid administrative experience in a busy, hands-on environment – practical know-how matters to us far more than a wall of certificates
    • Brilliant organisation: you juggle, you prioritise, and nothing slips through the cracks
    • Real discretion and professionalism – you treat sensitive information exactly as it should be
    • Confident with Microsoft Office and comfortable picking up new systems quickly
    • A warm, clear communicator who's just as happy speaking to a director as a new starter on their first day
    • Experience in construction, engineering or a similar SME/operational business would be a bonus, but it's not a dealbreaker
    • Someone who takes ownership and gets on with it, rather than waiting to be asked

🎁 What's in it for you:

    • 20 days' annual leave (rising to 25 after a year, and 30 after five years)
    • Private medical cover after 6 months
    • Free onsite parking
    • A genuine chance to shape the role, improve how things run, and be properly valued for it in a growing, supportive business

🌟 This is more than just a job – it's a chance to join a business that invests in its people, values diversity and inclusion, and gives you the room to make the role your own.

Apply now with your CV and take your next step with a company that genuinely puts its people first. 💚
