How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Hornchurch is looking to recruit several dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join their team from September 2026. These are full-time, long-term opportunities, with vacancies available across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.

    The school is seeking compassionate, resilient, and proactive individuals who are passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and helping every pupil achieve their full potential.

    The RoleAs a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs.

    Depending on the needs of the school, you may work on a 1:1 basis, support small intervention groups, or provide classroom support for children with SEND across different year groups.

    You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, build confidence, develop independence, and make excellent progress both academically and socially.

    Responsibilities
    Support pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language needs, Global Developmental Delay, and other Special Educational Needs.
    Provide 1:1 and small group support throughout the school day.
    Deliver targeted interventions to support learning and personal development.
    Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence.
    Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
    Support pupils across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
    Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, therapists, and parents.
    Monitor pupil progress and contribute towards EHCP targets where appropriate.
    Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.About YouTo be considered for this SEND Teaching Assistant role, you must have:

    A minimum of one year's experience supporting children with SEND within a school or previous experience working as a Support Worker, Care Worker, Residential Support Worker, or within a similar setting.
    Experience supporting children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs.
    Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
    A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
    The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with children.
    An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.Applicants from backgrounds including support work, care work, youth work, residential care, behaviour mentoring, sports coaching, alternative provision, or children's services are strongly encouraged to apply.
