How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you a qualified or part-qualified accountant who enjoys working with finance, systems, data and technology?

We're working with a leading law firm to recruit a Finance Systems Accountant to join its Finance Systems team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the continued development and digital transformation of the firm's finance function.

The role would suit someone who enjoys looking beyond traditional accounting and is motivated by improving systems, processes and data to make finance work smarter and more efficiently.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Systems Manager, you'll work closely with colleagues across Finance and Technology, as well as stakeholders across the wider business.

    The role

You'll have the opportunity to make a real impact across the firm, helping to ensure its finance systems are reliable, effective and continually evolving.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Identifying and implementing improvements across finance systems and processes
Leading and supporting system upgrades, enhancements and testing
Reviewing existing processes and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality and controls
Supporting the development of financial reports, dashboards and data solutions
Working with stakeholders across the business to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions
Supporting the continued digitisation and development of the finance function
Providing training, guidance and support to colleagues on finance systems and processes
Using financial data and analysis to identify issues, opportunities and areas for improvementWhat we're looking for

We're keen to speak with finance professionals who have a strong interest in systems, technology and continuous improvement.

    You'll ideally have:

A qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or equivalent
Experience in a finance systems, systems accounting or similar role
Experience with Aderant OR 3E, or previous experience working within the legal sector
Experience supporting finance system upgrades, implementations or process improvement projects
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience using SQL to query, analyse and interpret financial data
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
A genuine interest in how technology and data can improve finance processesYou don't need to be a pure systems specialist. This role is particularly well suited to someone who can combine a solid accounting foundation with strong systems and analytical capability.

    Why join?

You'll be joining a highly regarded UK law firm with a reputation for combining high-quality client work with a progressive approach to its people, culture and technology.

The firm places a strong emphasis on collaboration, inclusion, development and innovation, giving you the opportunity to work with experienced professionals while playing an important role in the ongoing evolution of its finance function.

    Benefits and selling points include:

Hybrid working and a strong focus on work-life balance
A supportive and inclusive working environment
Excellent opportunities for professional and career development
Investment in learning and employee development, with Platinum accreditation from Investors in People
A culture that encourages innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement
The opportunity to work alongside Finance and Technology teams on meaningful transformation projects
A firm recognised externally for its people-focused culture, including being named Law Firm of the Year at the Legal Business Awards 2025
A chance to build your career within a respected professional services environment while working on systems and projects that have a genuine impact across the businessInterested?
