How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

You will help children access learning, manage transitions and develop the self-regulation skills they need to participate successfully in school life.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide one-to-one and small-group support

Break tasks into achievable steps and maintain pupils’ motivation

Use visual timetables, movement breaks and regulation strategies

Apply individual behaviour and support plans consistently

Recognise triggers and intervene before situations escalate

    Use calm, respectful de-escalation techniques

Support pupils to repair relationships and return to learning

Record behaviour, progress and interventions objectively

Communicate effectively with teachers, the SENCO and pastoral team

Support safe transitions around the school

Follow safeguarding, confidentiality and risk-management procedures

    Candidate Profile

We would like to hear from applicants who have:

Recent experience supporting pupils with ADHD, SEMH or behavioural needs

    Strong behaviour-management and relationship-building skills

An understanding of trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming practice

The ability to maintain firm, fair and predictable boundaries

    Patience, self-awareness and resilience

A willingness to follow individual plans and accept professional guidance

A commitment to helping pupils develop independence

The right to work in the UK

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply

    Two satisfactory professional references

Training in positive handling, Team Teach, Autism, ADHD, restorative practice or emotional-literacy support would be advantageous.

    What You Will Gain

    Long-term experience in a focused SEN-support role

    Guidance from experienced inclusion professionals

Opportunities to develop specialist behaviour-support skills

Clear systems for recording and reviewing pupil progress

The satisfaction of helping pupils achieve meaningful personal and academic milestones

Potential continuity for the full academic year, subject to school need and performance
