How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Buyer – Home Textiles

    £38,000 - £40,000 | Greater Manchester | Office Based

Axon Moore are currently partnering with an established and growing retail business in Greater Manchester who are looking to appoint a Buyer to take ownership of a key Home Textiles category.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Buyer, or a strong Junior Buyer ready to take the next step, to join a fast-paced commercial environment where you'll have genuine ownership of product ranges and the opportunity to influence category growth.

You'll play a key role in developing commercially successful ranges, working closely with Design, Merchandising, Ecommerce and Supply Chain teams to bring products from initial concept through to launch.

    The role

This is an end-to-end buying position, giving you the opportunity to be involved across product development, supplier management and trading performance.

    You'll be responsible for:

Developing customer-focused product ranges, balancing core products, seasonal opportunities and newness.
Managing the product development journey from concept through to launch.
Reviewing samples, specifications and quality standards before production.
Negotiating with suppliers to achieve the best costs, margins, payment terms and lead times.
Analysing sales performance and using data to identify opportunities for growth.
Managing critical paths to ensure products launch on time.
Building strong supplier relationships and working closely with overseas partners.
Collaborating with internal teams including Merchandising, Design, Ecommerce and Supply Chain.
    What we're looking for

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

Previous buying experience within Home, Textiles, Soft Furnishings or a comparable retail category.
Experience managing product ranges within a fast-paced retail environment.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to analyse sales and margin performance.
    Experience negotiating directly with suppliers.
A good understanding of product development and critical path management.
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
Confident Excel skills and the ability to work with data.
Experience within textiles, homewares or overseas sourcing would be highly advantageous.

We'd also be open to considering a strong Junior Buyer looking for the next step in their career.

    What's on offer

    Salary of £38,000 - £40,000.
A genuine opportunity to own and grow a key product category.
Exposure across the full buying lifecycle.
The opportunity to work with a collaborative and fast-paced retail team.
    Potential international travel opportunities.
If you're a Buyer looking for more ownership, or a Junior Buyer ready to step up, please contact Charlotte on (url removed)
