How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    An Exciting Opportunity in Aerospace Engineering

    Are you ready to make an impact in the aerospace industry? This company is seeking a talented Lead FEM Engineer to join their dynamic Wing engineering team at their Filton facility.     About the Role

    The Lead FEM Engineer position offers a unique opportunity to take a central role in developing Finite Element Modelling solutions. As a Lead FEM Engineer, the successful candidate will:

    Support the development of GFEM and DFEM projects across multiple programmes
    Analyse and validate FE and stress data, proposing design solutions optimised for weight, cost, performance, and manufacturing requirements
    Deliver static and fatigue ennoblement to Wing design teams
    Drive digital solutions to enhance Wing structure ennoblement processes
    Act as a focal point for FE and digital activities, defining priorities and highlighting risks
    Champion innovation and continuous improvement across the team
    Interface with key stakeholders across transnational teams

    What We're Looking For

    To excel in this Lead FEM Engineer role, candidates should possess:

    Degree-level education in Aerospace Engineering
    5-10 years of professional experience in finite element modelling
    Proven expertise with FEM tools including Hyperworks, Hypermesh, and MSC Nastran
    Experience idealising Wing component structures using Finite Element Methodology
    Strong knowledge of airworthiness requirements and Airbus policies
    Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
    Fluent English at negotiation level (written and verbal)
    A proactive, dynamic approach with strong problem-solving abilitiesAdvantageous: FEM Signature delegation, ISAMI competency, and experience with UNIX-based platforms.

    The Details

    Location: Filton
    Position Type: Lead FEM Engineer (Contract)
    Hours: 35 hours per week (4.5 days, flexible between 7am-7pm)
    On-Site: 80% onsite
    Provisional End Date: 01 March 2027 (with probable extension)
    Security Clearance: BPSS+ (to be completed by company security)
    Pay Rate: £46.00 per hour (Umbrella) / £34.39 per hour (PAYE)
    Travel: Occasional
    IR35 Status: Off-payroll working rules apply
