How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the role
We have a new opportunity for a Community Investment Officer to join our team. This is an exciting time to join The Guinness Partnership as we introduce a new approach for increasing and improving our social impact.

With offices in both Bristol and Exeter, we're flexible on where this role is based across the South West. We offer a hybrid working model, combining three days in the office with two days working from home each week. You will work closely with colleagues across locations and be fully integrated into the team.

Our services include a new delivery model providing a Universal Offer to support all Guinness residents across the country, as well as a Targeted Offer to support identified geographical areas and groups with most need.

We design and deliver services through partnerships with organisations of all levels across the country, and everything we do is driven through the capture, analysis and learning from data.

Developing and co-ordinating communication and promotional campaigns
Assisting with the design and delivery of projects and producing reports on all service activity
This is an exciting, multi-faceted role for a creative and practical professional with a wide skill set, and appetite for fast-paced and varied day to day activity.

    What we are looking for
We are a resident-focussed organisation, so we know that how we do things is just as important as what we do. The Community Investment Officer will need the drive and confidence to work independently whilst also being a genuine collaborator, committed to working closely and successfully with the wider Community Investment Team and a range of different departments across the business.

You must be able to demonstrate the following:

    Essential

Good understanding of community investment, in particular tracking, measuring and monitoring impact
Proven experience of supporting a team to deliver high quality and impactful work
Experience of working with different data sources - analysing and interrogating information to generate and apply learning for service development and to produce reports for different audiences
Experience of managing and supporting services across contracting, budget management, communications, and project planning and development
Confident collaborator and networker both with colleagues and with external stakeholders who can build and maintain excellent working relationships
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and wider digital tools and platforms including Power BI, Asana, Proactis, etc.
    Desirable

    An understanding of social housing
A high level of creativity and appetite to work innovatively to experiment, test and learn from service delivery and improve outcomes
To find out find out more about the key responsibilities of the role and to ensure you meet the essential criteria, please review the role profile.
