Primary Cover Supervisor Role
The successful Primary Cover Supervisor will be working as part of an energetic and supportive team and will focus on maintaining continuity of learning in the absence of the class teacher.
You will deliver pre-planned lessons, manage classroom behaviour effectively, and support pupils to remain engaged and motivated throughout the school day.
We are looking to recruit a Primary Cover Supervisor who is confident working with children of varying ages, abilities, and learning needs, including those who may face barriers to learning.
The Successful Candidate Will:
Hold a degree or relevant Level 3 qualification
Have experience working with children or young people
Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills
Be confident leading classes independently and following lesson plans
Have the ability to adapt to different year groups, learning styles, and needs
Be flexible, proactive, and committed to supporting pupil progress and wellbeing
Desirable:
Experience supporting pupils with SEN and/or EAL needs
Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, or HLTA
Knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
QTS, PGCE, or other relevant teaching qualifications
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or completing an application for a new check.
We also offer, via our partner, access to accredited Education-relevant CPD courses. In addition, GSL Education is currently offering £100 for the successful referral of either Teachers or Teaching Assistants (T&Cs apply).
