How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you a structural or civil engineer looking to move beyond consultancy and see your ideas become real products?

    We're looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our clients growing engineering team, where you'll work across the full engineering lifecycle—from concept and calculations through to client support and product development. Rather than working on just one part of a project, you'll have ownership, variety and the opportunity to make a genuine impact.

    As a successful family-run business investing heavily in innovation, our client are moving from being a reseller to developing their own market-leading products and intellectual property. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in that journey.

    £40,000–£45,000 + 15% Bonus + Excellent Benefits package

    Location: near Henley-on-Thames and Marlow
    Hours: 8:00am–5:00pm (1-hour lunch)
    Hybrid: Up to 2 days working from home per week

    Why Join this company?

    This is a role for engineers who enjoy solving complex problems and want their work to be visible.

    You'll work on recognised construction projects involving:

    * Cast-in channels

    * Masonry support systems

    * Lifting systems

    * Structural bracketry

    * Bespoke connection design

    Alongside project engineering, you'll help develop new products, improve in-house design tools and embrace AI to automate routine engineering tasks—allowing you to spend more time on the work that really matters.

    As part of a small, highly technical team, your ideas will influence how they work, how products evolve and how the department grows.

    They also invest heavily in professional development through:

    * Structured competency framework

    * Weekly technical knowledge-sharing sessions

    * Monthly product training

    * Opportunities to develop leadership responsibilities

    The Role of Senior Civil Engineer:

    This varied position combines technical engineering support with innovative product development. You'll spend your time:

    * Designing bespoke structural solutions and carrying out engineering calculations to British Standards and Eurocodes.

    * Providing technical advice and engineering support to contractors, consultants and clients.

    * Developing new products from concept through testing and implementation.

    * Creating and improving engineering calculation tools and AI-driven design processes.

    * Working closely with design, sales and operations teams to bring innovative products to market.

    * Supporting prototype testing, validation and continuous product improvement.

    * Delivering technical presentations and CPDs to clients.

    * Supporting the Engineering Director and helping lead the engineering team when required.

    About You

    You'll ideally have:

    * BEng/BSc in Civil or Structural Engineering.

    * Around 3+ years' experience in structural or civil engineering.

    * Experience designing steel and concrete structures to Eurocodes/British Standards.

    * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    * Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.

    * Experience with AutoCAD (Revit advantageous but not essential).

    * A proactive attitude with an interest in innovation, product development and improving engineering processes.

    Engineers currently working in consultancy who are looking for broader project ownership and the opportunity to influence product design are particularly encouraged to apply.

    If you're looking for a role where you'll work on technically challenging projects, help develop innovative products and have a genuine influence within a growing business, we'd love to hear from you
