We are currently recruiting a Vehicle Conversion Operative to join a well-established vehicle conversion and manufacturing business. Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 4:15pm
Friday: 7:00am – 12:00pm About the Role
As a Vehicle Conversion Operative, you will be responsible for converting commercial vehicles by welding vehicles' parts, installing a wide range of interior fittings, accessories, and specialist equipment. Working within a skilled production team, you'll help produce high-quality vehicle conversions while maintaining excellent workmanship, safety standards, and attention to detail.
Full training will be provided, allowing you to develop your skills across a variety of vehicle conversion projects, from basic ply lining to the installation of electrical accessories, security systems, shelving, and specialist vehicle equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Basic welding tacking/connecting parts level
Install ply lining using plywood, GRP linings, carpeting, chequer plate and lightweight materials
Fit shelving, storage systems and modular vehicle equipment
Install roof racks, ladder racks, pipe carriers and roof systems
Install vehicle lighting, beacons, lightbars and 12V electrical accessories
Fit vehicle security systems including deadlocks, slam locks and armour locks
Install reversing cameras, parking sensors and alarm systems
Assist with seat conversions, towbars and rear steps
Install ventilation systems, heaters and air conditioning components
Carry out window installations and vehicle finishing work
Read and follow technical drawings and work instructions
Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently
Carry out quality checks throughout the assembly process
Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
Work towards production targets while maintaining high quality standards What We're Looking For
Previous experience in vehicle conversions is highly desirable
Experience in welding is a must
Good practical skills and excellent attention to detail
Ability to use hand and power tools confidently
Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Conversational English (minimum 5/10) is required What We Offer
