How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Social Value Coordinator / Social Value Lead

    Location: Midlands
    Salary: Competitive + Benefits

    We're recruiting for a Social Value Coordinator / Social Value Lead to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across the Midlands.

    This is an excellent opportunity to help deliver meaningful social value initiatives across a diverse portfolio of civil engineering projects, ensuring positive outcomes for local communities while meeting client and contractual commitments.

    The Role

    Working closely with operational teams, clients, local authorities, education providers and community organisations, you'll coordinate and deliver social value activities across multiple civil engineering projects. You'll be responsible for driving community engagement, employment and skills initiatives, and ensuring social value commitments are achieved and accurately reported.

    Key Responsibilities

    Develop and implement project-specific social value plans.
    Build strong relationships with clients, schools, colleges, charities and community organisations.
    Coordinate apprenticeships, work experience, employment and volunteering initiatives.
    Organise careers fairs, STEM events and community engagement activities.
    Capture, monitor and report social value outcomes in line with client and framework requirements.
    Work with project teams to identify opportunities to maximise social value delivery.
    Maintain accurate records and produce regular performance reports.
    Support bid submissions with social value content where required.
    Promote best practice and continuous improvement across the business.

    Requirements

    Previous experience in a Social Value, Community Engagement or Stakeholder Engagement role.
    Experience within civil engineering, construction, infrastructure or the built environment.
    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
    Experience collecting and reporting social value data and KPIs.
    Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
