How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We're partnering with a fast-growing, investor-backed business within the home improvement sector that is looking to appoint an exceptional Sales Director to lead its nationwide direct sales operation.
    Following significant growth over the years, the business is entering an exciting new phase of expansion and is seeking a commercially minded leader to shape the future of its sales function. This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact by developing the people, processes and strategy required to build a best-in-class field sales organisation.
    If you've successfully led large-scale, appointment-based B2C sales teams and enjoy combining strategic leadership with hands-on coaching, we'd love to hear from you.
    The Role
    As Sales Director, you will take full ownership of the national field sales function, driving performance, developing leadership capability and creating a culture focused on delivering exceptional customer outcomes.
    Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will develop and execute the sales strategy while ensuring the business has the right structure, systems and people in place to support ambitious growth plans.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Lead and inspire a nationwide field sales team of 30-35+ Sales Representatives, supported by Regional Sales Managers.
    * Develop and implement a clear sales strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
    * Recruit, coach and develop high-performing sales professionals and regional leaders.
    * Improve sales conversion, productivity and customer experience across the business.
    * Design and enhance commission structures, incentive schemes and performance frameworks.
    * Analyse sales data, KPIs and CRM reporting to identify trends and maximise performance.
    * Introduce best-in-class sales training, onboarding and coaching programmes.
    * Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, development and continuous improvement.
    * Work closely with senior leadership to support long-term commercial objectives.
    About You
    We're looking for an experienced Sales Director or Head of Sales who has successfully led a national direct-to-consumer sales operation.
    You'll ideally have:
    * Proven experience leading national field sales teams within a B2C environment.
    * A successful track record of managing and developing teams of 30-35+ field sales professionals.
    * Experience within appointment-led, in-home sales environments.
    * Strong commercial awareness with the ability to drive revenue growth and improve profitability.
    * Experience creating scalable sales structures during periods of business growth.
    * A history of improving conversion rates, sales performance and customer satisfaction.
    * Strong coaching and leadership skills with a passion for developing people.
    * Excellent analytical skills and confidence using CRM systems and sales data to drive decisions.
    * The ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including board-level executives.
    * A hands-on leadership style and willingness to spend time in the field supporting your teams.
    Industry Experience
    We're particularly interested in Sales Directors who have worked within national B2C field sales businesses such as:
    * Windows & Doors
    * Home Improvements
    * Conservatories
    * Kitchens & Bathrooms
    * Solar & Renewable Energy
    * Roofing
    * Home Security
    * Other appointment-led, in-home consumer sales businesses
    Why Join?
    This is a rare opportunity to join a business with ambitious growth plans, strong financial backing and the freedom to shape a national sales function. You'll have the autonomy to influence strategy, develop exceptional sales talent and play a key role in the next stage of the company's success.
    If you're an inspiring sales leader looking for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
