How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Site Inspectors / Clerk of Works
    Location: London Gateway, Corringham, Essex
    Rate: £300 - £350 per day (Outside IR35)
    Contract: Until 30th June 2027
    Start Date: ASAP

    An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Site Inspectors / Clerks of Works to join a major infrastructure project at London Gateway Port on a long-term contract running until June 2027.

    Working on behalf of a leading engineering consultancy, you will play a key role in inspecting and monitoring civil and marine construction works, ensuring all activities are completed in accordance with approved designs, specifications, quality standards and health & safety requirements.

    Site Inspectors / Clerk of Works - Salary & Benefits

    £300 - £350 per day (DOE).
    Outside IR35.
    Contract until 30th June 2027.
    Immediate start available.
    54-hour working week.
    Standard hours: 08:00 - 18:00 Monday to Saturday (1-hour unpaid lunch).
    Additional evening, night and weekend working may be required depending on project requirements, including a rotating 12 days on / 2 days off night shift pattern where applicable.
    On-site role based at DP World London Gateway, Corringham, Essex.

    Site Inspectors / Clerk of Works - Job Overview

    Inspect civil and marine construction works to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
    Monitor contractor workmanship, quality and adherence to health & safety procedures.
    Maintain accurate daily site records, inspection reports and photographic evidence.
    Review project documentation including RAMS, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and material submissions.
    Identify and report quality issues, non-conformances and safety concerns.
    Liaise with the site team, contractors and client representatives to support successful project delivery.
    Ensure works are delivered in accordance with contractual and quality requirements

    Site Inspectors / Clerk of Works - Job Requirements

    Previous experience as a Site Inspector, Clerk of Works, Site Engineer or similar within civil engineering, marine or heavy infrastructure projects.
    Engineering qualification (Degree, HNC or equivalent).
    Strong understanding of construction quality assurance and inspection processes.
    Good report writing and record-keeping skills.
    Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    CSCS White Card.
    Full UK Driving Licence.
