How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Youth Mental Health Support - Reading

    Are you passionate about supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs?

    An exciting opportunity has become available for a Youth Mental Health Worker at a specialist SEMH school in Reading. This is a rewarding role within a nurturing and inclusive setting, designed to support children who experience significant challenges with their mental health and emotional regulation.

    This is a specialist provision that caters specifically to children with social, emotional, and mental health needs. The school offers a therapeutic and structured environment where students are supported both emotionally and academically in small class settings. The dedicated staff work collaboratively to promote positive relationships, emotional growth, and individual development.

    As a Youth Mental Health Support Worker:

    Work closely with students who require additional support in managing and understanding their emotions
    Provide 1:1 and small group interventions focused on emotional regulation and well-being
    Support students throughout the school day, helping them engage positively with their learning
    Collaborate with teachers and other staff to maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
    Be a role model of consistency, patience, and compassionThe ideal Youth Mental Health Support Worker:

    Passionate about mental health and driven to make a difference in young people's lives
    Calm, resilient, and empathetic in challenging situations
    A team player with a positive, proactive approachA background in psychology, criminology, sociology, sport, art, or music is advantageous, but not essential.
