How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are recruiting an enthusiastic Activities Coordinator to join a friendly elderly residential care home in Leytonstone.

    This role is all about improving the quality of life of residents by delivering creative, meaningful and person-centred activities. Most residents are living with dementia, so we're looking for someone with patience, empathy and plenty of imagination.

    You do not need previous experience as an Activities Coordinator. If you have experience supporting older people or individuals living with dementia and enjoy engaging with others, we would love to hear from you.

    This position would suit someone from a creative background, a drama or performing arts student, an experienced care worker looking for a new challenge, or someone who has retired and wants to make a real difference.

    Responsibilities

    * Plan and deliver person-centred activities for residents.

    * Organise both group and one-to-one activities.

    * Support residents living with dementia through meaningful engagement.

    * Encourage independence, wellbeing and social interaction.

    * Organise celebrations, themed events and outings.

    * Work closely with families to understand residents' interests and life stories.

    * Develop and maintain weekly activity programmes.

    * Produce monthly newsletters and activity displays.

    * Keep accurate activity records and resident engagement notes.

    * Build links with local community groups, entertainers and volunteers.

    * Complete activity risk assessments where required.

    * Maintain activity resources and communal areas.

    * Work closely with the wider care team to enhance residents' wellbeing.

    * Attend mandatory training and team meetings.

    About You

    * Caring, compassionate and enthusiastic.

    * Creative with plenty of ideas.

    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    * Organised and able to work independently.

    * Experience working with elderly people or people living with dementia is desirable.

    * Passionate about improving the lives of older people.

    Benefits

    * £24,000 - £26,000 per annum.

    * Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm flexible hours also considered

    * No weekend working.

    * Supportive management team.

    * Ongoing training and development.

    * Opportunity to make a genuine difference every day.

    If you're looking for a rewarding role where your creativity can have a lasting impact on the lives of older people, we'd love to hear from you
