How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Position: Commercial Support & Purchasing Officer (Information Technology)

    Location: 25 West St, Chichester, PO19 1RQ

    Start Date: ASAP

    Contract Duration: 6+ Months (Temporary contract)

    Working Hours: 37 hours per week (09:00-17:00)

    Pay Rate: PAYE: £16.89 per hour

    Job Responsibilities

    Provide purchasing, commercial, financial, and supplier administration support to the IT Service Operations Service & Supplier Management team.

    Raise, process, and manage purchase orders.

    Support goods receipting and invoice processing activities.

    Assist with supplier onboarding and supplier administration.

    Maintain contract administration records and documentation.

    Support low-value procurement activities in line with organisational procedures.

    Process internal recharging and financial administration tasks.

    Produce and maintain management reports and accurate records.

    Support supplier governance and contract management processes.

    Ensure purchasing and financial records are accurate and up to date.

    Liaise with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve purchasing and administrative queries.

    Person Specification

    Experience in purchasing, finance administration, supplier administration, or commercial support.

    Experience raising and managing purchase orders.

    Knowledge of supplier administration and contract administration processes.

    Experience using purchasing systems and Microsoft Office applications.

    Strong organisational and administrative skills.

    Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

    Good stakeholder management and communication skills.

    Ability to maintain accurate records and produce reports.

    Understanding of procurement processes; contract administration knowledge is desirable.

    Ability to work independently while supporting a wider team in a hybrid/remote environment
