How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Looking for more than just another CNC job?

    I'm recruiting on behalf of one of the UK's most modern precision engineering companies who have invested over £12 million into the latest CNC technology and continue to grow year after year. Operating from a fully air-conditioned, 24/7 manufacturing facility, they produce complex precision components for sectors including Aerospace, Defence, and Formula One, working to AS9100 standards.

    If you're a skilled CNC Turner who can comfortably program, set up and take ownership of complex jobs, this is the type of environment where you'll genuinely continue developing your career.

    The Role

    You'll be programming, setting and operating a variety of modern CNC turning centres, producing high precision components from prototype through to production.

    This isn't simply loading parts. You'll be trained then trusted to take ownership of jobs from start to finish.

    Machines include

    * Multi-Axis CNC Turning Centres

    * Twin Spindle Lathes

    * Sub-Spindle Machines

    * Mill-Turn Centres

    * Horizontal & Vertical Turning Centres

    You'll machine an impressive range of materials including: Every day is different, with it mainly being prototype / low batch work.

    What they're looking for

    ✔ CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator on at least any of the following machines

    * Multi-Axis lathes

    * Twin Spindle lathes

    * Sub Spindle lathes

    * Mill Turn centres

    Live Tooling, Fanuc Controls and long hand programming would be advantageous Other controls considered if you're willing to learn.

    Why people join

    * Modern, exceptionally clean machine shop

    * £12m invested in CNC technology

    * Excellent overtime available

    * Generous night shift premium

    * Genuine long-term career progression

    * Ongoing investment into staff

    * Sent to CAD/CAM course training after probation

    * Stable business with an excellent reputation

    * Friendly engineering team

    * High value, technically challenging work

    Working Hours

    * 40 hours over Monday–Thursday

    * Flexible start between approximately 3pm and 6pm, finishing around 1am–4am depending on agreed shift.

    Salary

    * Highly competitive hourly rate

    * Generous night shift premium

    * Overtime paid at 1.5x

    * Basic salary up to £75,000

    What makes this role different?

    Most companies expect experienced programmers but offer very little development, and no progression This business actively invests in its engineers.

    If you're already a strong CNC Turner that wants to expand your programming capability through CAD/CAM whilst working on some of the most modern CNC machinery available, this is an opportunity worth exploring
