How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

As a Warehouse Solutions Design Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in designing intelligent, cost-effective warehouse solutions that support customer growth and operational success.

    The Company

    Loom Talent Limited has been engaged by a leading 3PL Provider renowned for its expertise in the retail and e-comm sectors.

    Reporting to the Head of Solutions Design, the Warehouse Solutions Design Manager will be responsible for leading the solution design of tender responses, developing and delivering commercially competitive warehouse solutions that meet customer requirements, optimise operational efficiency, and support successful business growth opportunities.

    Key Responsibilities of a Warehouse Solutions Design Manager:

    Understand customer and operational requirements to develop tailored warehouse solutions.
    Analyse operational data to optimise warehouse layouts, workflows, storage capacity, and productivity.
    Design warehouse layouts, material flow concepts, racking systems, and automation solutions.
    Produce process maps, design documentation, technical specifications, and presentation materials to communicate solutions effectively.
    Develop functional specifications for automation and conveyor systems to support procurement and implementation.
    Work closely with implementation teams to ensure warehouse designs are delivered successfully and perform as intended.
    Provide technical guidance throughout project delivery, resolving design-related challenges where required.
    Collaborate with operational stakeholders to ensure seamless transition from solution design to live operation.
    Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency through innovation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    Research emerging technologies and industry best practice to ensure solutions remain modern, scalable, and commercially effective.
    Partner with engineering, IT, and automation specialists to develop smart warehouse solutions that enhance operational performance.

    Requirements

    Previous industry experience within Transport, Logistics and Supply Chain.
    5+ years proven experience in a Solutions Design role with commercial responsibility, delivering cost-effective warehouse solutions.
    Strong commercial understanding of the UK third-party logistics sector.
    Clear, confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
    Strategic, analytical and practical approach to solving warehouse design challenges.
    Able to work across multiple or international sites, ensuring operational alignment.
    A practical, hands-on approach to solving warehouse design, operational, and implementation challenges
    Strong experience in warehouse operations, facility layout design, and process improvement.
    Proficient in using CAD software (such as AutoCAD) to develop warehouse layouts and technical designs.
    Good understanding of warehouse automation, material handling equipment, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), with the ability to design efficient operational solutions.
