How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Infrastructure Engineer
    Location: Stratford / Victoria, London (Hybrid Working)
    Rate: £480 per day – Umbrella
    Contract: Initial Contract Opportunity
    Working Pattern: Hybrid – Minimum 3 days per week in the office or on site

    CETO Talent is recruiting for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support the protection of critical transport infrastructure across London.
    Working within a specialist Infrastructure Protection team, you’ll help ensure that third-party developments adjacent to operational transport assets are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with engineering standards and assurance requirements.
    This is an excellent opportunity for a Civil or Structural Engineer with experience working alongside live infrastructure, major developments or transport projects.
    The Role
    You’ll be responsible for reviewing engineering proposals submitted by developers, coordinating technical approvals and protecting operational transport infrastructure throughout the lifecycle of third-party developments.
    Working closely with developers, contractors, consultants and internal engineering teams, you’ll provide technical guidance, assess engineering risks and ensure projects meet the required standards before work proceeds.
    Key Responsibilities
    Review engineering drawings, reports and technical submissions produced by developers and their design teams.
    Assess the impact of proposed developments on operational transport infrastructure.
    Manage engineering interfaces between external developers, contractors and internal assurance teams.
    Coordinate technical approvals, consents and access requirements for third-party works.
    Interpret structural assessment reports and engineering documentation.
    Identify engineering risks associated with construction adjacent to operational transport assets.
    Coordinate specialist engineering reviews where required.
    Monitor project progress, time and costs to support cost recovery.
    Attend site meetings and carry out engineering reviews during construction.
    Provide technical advice to internal and external stakeholders.
    Support the safe delivery of infrastructure projects through effective engineering assurance.
    What We’re Looking For
    We’re keen to speak with candidates who have experience in one or more of the following:
    Civil Engineering
    Structural Engineering
    Infrastructure Protection
    Rail Infrastructure
    Highways
    Major Construction Projects
    Utilities Infrastructure
    Asset Protection
    Development Interface Management
    You’ll also have:
    Experience reviewing engineering drawings, calculations and technical reports.
    Experience working on projects adjacent to operational rail, highway or transport infrastructure.
    Strong understanding of engineering risk assessment.
    Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
    Experience working with developers, consultants and contractors.
    Ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
    Experience carrying out or interpreting structural inspections and assessments would be advantageous.
    Knowledge of legislation such as the CDM Regulations, Highways Act, Town & Country Planning Act, Party Wall Act or railway legislation would be beneficial.
    Professional Qualifications
    Candidates should ideally hold:
    Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
    Working towards or holding EngTech, IEng or CEng status would be advantageous. The role also values experience producing technical reports, supporting engineering projects and applying engineering standards within a structured governance framework.
