How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Automatic Door Engineer (Subcontract) – Norfolk

    V7 Recruitment is working with an established provider of automatic entrance, industrial door and access solutions. Due to an increase in service and maintenance work, we are looking for an experienced Automatic Door Engineer to cover sites across Norfolk and the surrounding areas.

    This position will primarily involve automatic pedestrian doors, although experience with roller shutters, industrial doors, gates or barriers would also be beneficial.

    The Role

    Contract type: Subcontract – Service and Maintenance
    Location: Norfolk and surrounding areas

    You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a variety of automatic entrance systems across commercial, industrial and public-sector sites.

    Automatic swing doors
    Automatic sliding doors
    Bi-fold and telescopic doors
    Door operators, sensors and safety devices
    Access control interfaces
    Roller shutters
    Sectional and overhead doors
    Gates and barrier systemsKey Responsibilities

    Carry out planned preventative maintenance on automatic door systems.
    Attend reactive callouts and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
    Complete repairs, adjustments and replacement of defective components.
    Test door operators, sensors and safety equipment.
    Ensure systems operate safely and in accordance with current industry standards.
    Identify any additional remedial works required.
    Complete service reports and supporting documentation accurately.
    Communicate professionally with customers and site representatives.
    Manage your own workload and travel between sites independently.Requirements

    Demonstrable experience servicing and repairing automatic pedestrian doors.
    Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical components.
    Experience with leading automatic door manufacturers and operators.
    ADSA qualification is essential.
    DHF qualification is required for engineers working on industrial doors, shutters, gates or barriers.
    Experience within commercial, industrial or public-sector environments.
    Valid DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
    Full UK driving licence.
    Own tools and transport.
    Ability to work independently and maintain a high standard of customer service.What’s on Offer

    £38.00–£41.00 per hour, depending on experience
