Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding long-term opportunity in a supportive North London primary school?
Tradewind Recruitment is working with a number of welcoming and inclusive primary schools in the Tufnell Park area that are looking to appoint committed Teaching Assistants for full-time, long-term roles starting in September 2026. These positions offer the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidates.

The Role
As a Long-Term Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support pupils across the classroom to maximise their learning and development
Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons and interventions
Provide one-to-one and small group support where required
Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
Support children with a range of learning needs, including SEND where appropriate
Prepare classroom resources and assist with daily classroom routines
Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
Have at least 6 months' experience working in a UK primary school
Hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service
Be available to work Monday to Friday (5 days per week)
Be flexible to travel to schools across both Islington and Hackney boroughs
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Be reliable, proactive and passionate about supporting children's learning
Be able to work effectively as part of a team
Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEND) is highly desirable but not essential.
