How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Expanding your knowledge across additional electronic security product ranges as your experience grows.

    You'll ideally have experience of:

Installing, commissioning and servicing addressable and conventional fire alarm systems

Programming, configuring and testing fire alarm control panels

Diagnosing electrical and electronic faults on commercial fire detection systems

Reading wiring diagrams, schematics and technical documentation

Supporting customers, colleagues or subcontractors with technical queries

Working on commercial, industrial or public sector fire alarm installations

You'll have hands-on experience with one or more leading fire alarm manufacturers such as:

    You'll also bring:

    Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills

Strong electrical and electronic engineering knowledge

    A methodical approach to troubleshooting

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly

A customer-focused attitude and the confidence to support engineers remotely

Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple technical enquiries

It would be advantageous if you've also:

Provided technical support over the phone

    Delivered technical training

Produced technical documentation or installation guides

Worked with access control, CCTV or wider electronic security systems

Knowledge of UK fire legislation and BS 5839.

    Why Join?

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who wants to continue using their technical expertise without spending every day travelling between customer sites.

    You'll benefit from:

    Monday to Friday working

    No call-out rota
