How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are seeking an experienced Interim Forensic Project Accountant to undertake a short-term assignment focused on reviewing, validating, and investigating project accounting records across multiple companies.

    This role requires a hands-on finance professional with strong forensic accounting and project accounting experience who can quickly assess complex financial information, verify expenditure, reconcile records, and provide assurance over the accuracy and completeness of project costs.

    The assignment is expected to last between one and two months and requires someone who can work independently, identify issues efficiently, and deliver clear, evidence-based findings within a tight timeframe.

    Key Responsibilities
    Conduct a forensic review of project accounting records.
    Verify the accuracy and legitimacy of project expenses and supporting documentation.
    Perform detailed sense checks of project expenditure to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, or unsupported costs.
    Review and reconcile records of supplies and materials across multiple companies.
    Investigate financial transactions and trace project costs across different legal entities.
    Reconcile intercompany transactions and ensure consistency of financial records.
    Identify duplicate, missing, or inaccurate entries and recommend corrective actions.
    Analyse large volumes of financial data to establish completeness and accuracy.
    Produce concise reports outlining findings, risks, and recommendations.
    Liaise with finance teams and project stakeholders to resolve discrepancies where required.

    Essential Skills and Experience
    Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
    Proven experience in forensic accounting, audit, project accounting, or financial investigation.
    Experience reviewing financial information across multiple companies or group structures.
    Strong technical accounting knowledge.
    Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with accounting and ERP systems.
    Demonstrated ability to analyse complex financial data and identify discrepancies quickly.
    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and deliver results to tight deadlines.

    Produced a clear report summarising findings, evidence, and recommendations.
    Provided assurance over the integrity and accuracy of project financial information.

    Ideal Candidate

    You will be an experienced interim finance professional who is comfortable stepping into a complex environment and rapidly assessing financial records. You will have excellent technical accounting skills, a forensic mindset, and the ability to investigate, challenge, and verify financial information with a high degree of accuracy. You are confident working across multiple entities and delivering practical, evidence-based outcomes within a 1–2 month engagement.

    The role is office based M-F 9-5pm possible options for overtime
