How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Talentmark are recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to join a leading global food company on a contract basis for 2 months initially. This is a fully site-based role in Manchester.

    Salary:

    £12.96 per hour PAYE

    Laboratory Technician Role:

    Complete routine analytical and laboratory testing in support of the food safety quality and operational teams.
    Run calibration checks, preventive maintenance tasks, and simple repair to analytical instrumentation, maintaining customer specifications books up-to-date.
    Interpret and document results of tests into active databases and communicate results to internal customers as required.
    Conduct routine quantitative and qualitative inspections and laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process and final products independently, supporting more complex trials and experiments under intermediate supervision.
    Handle moderately complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under general supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.Your Background:

    Hold a relevant Scientific qualification or equivalent working experience
    Any experience working in a Laboratory would be an advantage.
    Ability to read, write and interpret documents including operating procedures, etc. 
    Write routine reports and correspondence.
    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    Previous experience with Microsoft Office.Company:
