How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Working at the intersection of electrochemistry, operando characterisation and product development, the Application Scientist will play a key role in expanding the capabilities of a cutting-edge battery analysis platform. This role combines hands-on laboratory work with product development, supporting the creation of new experimental workflows, specialised test hardware and advanced data analysis approaches that help customers gain deeper insights into battery behaviour and performance.
     
    The Application Scientist will be responsible for:

    Designing and optimising experimental workflows across a range of battery chemistries
    Developing and refining bespoke operando battery cell designs to improve performance, usability and manufacturability
    Using CAD software to design components and support rapid prototyping activities
    Preparing battery electrodes and assembling laboratory-scale test cells
    Analysing electrochemical, imaging and multidimensional datasets to support product and application development
    Presenting technical findings and recommendations to customers, collaborators and internal teams
    Supporting scientific collaborations, customer demonstrations, training activities and industry events  
    The Application Scientist will have:

    An MSc or PhD in Electrochemistry, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Engineering or a related discipline
    Hands-on experience working with lithium-ion or other advanced battery technologies
    Experience in battery cell assembly and electrochemical testing
    A strong understanding of battery chemistries and electrochemical processes
    Strong CAD capability and experience designing technical components
    Excellent data analysis and experimental problem-solving skills
    Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and multidisciplinary teams
