How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Estimator

    Pinxton, Nottingham

    £35,000 - £40,000 DOE

    We're working with a growing specialist manufacturing business operating within the construction and architectural products sector. Due to continued growth, they're looking to add an experienced Estimator to their team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with industry experience who enjoys working with drawings, specifications, pricing and customers, and who wants to join a business where their experience and commercial input will be valued.

    Description of the role:

    Review customer enquiries, drawings, schedules and specifications.
    Prepare accurate and timely quotations.
    Complete measurements and quantity take-offs from drawings.
    Use CAD to interpret and work with technical drawings.
    Calculate costs covering materials, labour, production, delivery and project-specific requirements.
    Liaise with customers and colleagues to clarify project requirements.
    Obtain supplier, subcontractor and transport costs where required.
    Maintain accurate records of estimates, revisions and assumptions.
    Follow up quotations and support the sales process.
    Work closely with production and operations teams to ensure quoted work is practical and achievable.
    Identify project risks, exclusions and special requirements.
    Contribute to improving estimating and pricing processes.About you:

    Previous estimating experience within cast stone, architectural stone, precast concrete, masonry, joinery, metalwork or other manufactured construction products would be advantageous.
    Strong CAD experience and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
    Excellent numeracy and attention to detail.
    Experience carrying out measurements, take-offs and pricing.
    Good commercial awareness and an understanding of profitable pricing.
    The ability to manage multiple enquiries and deadlines.
    Strong communication and organisational skills.
    Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
