We are currently partnering with a specialist consultancy within the Building Pathology sector to recruit a Senior Consultant. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional with a background in building surveying, structural investigations, or defect analysis to take ownership of projects and work closely with clients across a diverse portfolio.
This is a varied position combining technical investigations, project management, and client-facing responsibilities. You will manage projects from initial instruction through to completion, ensuring a high standard of delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Condition surveys (intrusive and non-destructive)
Lead and deliver building pathology projects
Concrete assessments (composition, deterioration, corrosion)
Water ingress investigations and remediation planning
Non-destructive testing (GPR, ultrasonic pulse echo, etc.)
Building investigations for repurposing and design input
Coordinating laboratory testing and interpreting results
Produce and review clear, high-quality technical reports
Manage projects to meet safety, quality, and budget goals
Build strong client relationships and deliver practical solutions
Plan resources, allocate tasks, and monitor performance
Contribute to risk management and cost control
Key Skills:
Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
Background in building surveying, structural engineering, or investigations
Some exposure to project management and delivery
Strong communication skills and ability to work with clients and teams
Commercial awareness and understanding of budgets
Problem-solving mindset with a collaborative approach
Commitment to safety and quality
