How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

If you're someone who enjoys being hands-on, working as part of a team and developing practical technical skills, we'd love to hear from you.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Assist with the installation, preparation and dismantling of test rigs, equipment and testing facilities.
    • Support Test Technicians with the smooth delivery of testing programmes.
    • Carry out general labouring duties including moving materials, stock, test samples and equipment.
    • Assist with the construction and demolition of temporary test structures and walls.
    • Help operate specialist test rigs and equipment following training.
    • Maintain high standards of housekeeping across workshops, storage areas, yards and testing facilities.
    • Support general site maintenance and facilities activities.
    • Carry out basic maintenance of equipment and report any faults or defects.
    • Operate a Forklift Truck where appropriately trained and licensed.
    • Work safely at all times, following company procedures and Health & Safety legislation.
    • Assist with risk assessments and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.

    The Person
    • Experience in a hands-on environment such as engineering, manufacturing, construction, maintenance or facilities.
    • Good practical and DIY skills.
    • The ability to use hand and power tools safely.
    • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
    • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when required.
    • Good communication and organisational skills.
    • A good understanding of Health & Safety practices.
    • A full UK driving licence (essential).
    • Forklift Truck licence (desirable but not essential).

    What You Will Receive
    • Full training within a specialist technical testing environment.
    • Opportunities for ongoing professional development and recognised training.
    • Exposure to a wide range of specialist testing equipment and facilities.
    • A varied role where no two days are the same.
    • Supportive and experienced team environment.
    • Long-term career progression within a growing technical organisation.
