How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Product Design Engineer | SolidWorks | Product Development | Manufacturing

    Are you an experienced Product Design Engineer looking for an opportunity to take ownership of projects from concept through to manufacture?

    We're recruiting for a growing and well-established manufacturing business seeking a Senior Product Design Engineer to join their team in Kidderminster. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in new product development, R&D initiatives, and continuous improvement projects while working closely with production and operational teams.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for developing innovative products, creating production-ready designs using SolidWorks, and ensuring products meet relevant industry standards and compliance requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    Design and develop new products from concept through to manufacture.
    Produce detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation using SolidWorks and other CAD/CAM packages.
    Improve and optimise existing products to enhance quality, performance, and cost efficiency.
    Support research and development activities and contribute to future product innovation.
    Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, including BSEN standards and CE marking requirements.
    Generate manufacturing programmes and support the transition from design to production.
    Collaborate with estimating, surveying, production, and operations teams to deliver projects successfully.
    Support continuous improvement across design and manufacturing processes.About You

    Previous experience in a Product Design Engineer, Senior Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, or similar position.
    Proficient in SolidWorks and the creation of manufacturing drawings.
    Strong understanding of manufacturing environments and production processes.
    Experience working with sheet metal, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing would be advantageous.
    Knowledge of engineering standards and product compliance requirements.
    Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
