How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Project Manager to join a leading multidisciplinary construction and property consultancy with an excellent reputation for delivering complex public and private sector programmes across the UK.

This role offers the opportunity to support the delivery of major Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) projects, providing exposure to large-scale refurbishment, fit-out and estate improvement programmes within a structured, client-facing environment. It's an ideal position for someone looking to accelerate their project management career while gaining experience on nationally significant projects.

You'll work alongside experienced Project Managers and Directors who are committed to mentoring and developing the next generation of professionals, with clear progression opportunities into Project Manager and beyond.

    About the Business

Our client is an established multidisciplinary consultancy providing Project Management, Cost Management, Building Consultancy and Advisory services across the public and private sectors.

The business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects through collaborative working, technical excellence and long-term client relationships. Operating within a collaborative and supportive environment, employees work closely with experienced Directors and Project Managers, gaining early responsibility, structured mentoring and clear opportunities for professional development.

Rather than operating within rigid hierarchies, teams work collaboratively across disciplines, allowing individuals to gain broad project exposure while receiving structured support, training and mentoring throughout their careers.

    The Role

Working as part of an experienced project management team, you'll support the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects from inception through to completion.

You'll assist with project planning, programme management, stakeholder coordination, reporting and contract administration while developing a strong understanding of project governance and delivery within a live client environment.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same, offering exposure to multiple projects, clients and delivery teams while building the experience needed to progress your career quickly.

    Key Responsibilities

Support the delivery of multiple construction and refurbishment projects from inception through to completion.

Assist with project planning, programming and reporting.

Coordinate meetings with clients, consultants and contractors.

Monitor project progress, budgets, risks and key milestones.

Prepare project documentation, reports and meeting minutes.

Support procurement and contract administration activities.

Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Ensure projects are delivered in line with governance, programme and quality requirements.

    About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who are passionate about developing a career in Project Management and enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

    You'll ideally have:

Around 2-4 years' experience within a construction consultancy, contractor or client-side environment.

Experience supporting the delivery of construction, refurbishment or fit-out projects, with exposure to project management or project coordination.

An understanding of the project lifecycle and experience working across multiple RIBA stages.

A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Confidence working with clients, contractors and consultants.

A proactive attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine desire to progress your career.

An interest in, or be working towards, professional accreditation such as APM or RICS.

    What's on Offer

The opportunity to work on nationally significant DWP programmes.

Structured training, mentoring and ongoing professional development.

Direct exposure to experienced Project Managers and Directors.

A varied workload across multiple live projects.

Clear career progression within a growing consultancy.

A collaborative, supportive and people-focused culture.

    Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.

    Competitive salary and benefits package.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager looking to gain exposure to high-profile public sector projects while joining a consultancy that genuinely invests in its people and provides a clear pathway for long-term career progression
