Role Description The Head Basketball Coach is a full-time, on-site role based in Liverpool, responsible for leading the basketball program and overseeing all coaching activities. Day-to-day tasks include planning and conducting training sessions, developing game strategies, and providing technical and tactical instruction to players. The Head Coach will manage player development plans, evaluate performance, and offer constructive feedback to support growth and team cohesion. This role involves coordinating with assistant coaches and staff, organizing practice schedules, preparing for competitions, and ensuring adherence to safety and sportsmanship standards. The Head Coach will also communicate with management, players, and, where relevant, families or stakeholders to maintain clear expectations and a positive program culture.
Qualifications
- Strong basketball-specific expertise, including Basketball Coaching, Basketball, and Coaching skills.
- Ability to design and deliver effective Training programs focused on skill development, fitness, and game readiness.
- Excellent Communication skills for working with players, staff, and stakeholders in a clear and respectful manner.
- Prior experience as a head or lead coach, ideally within club, academy, or school-level basketball.
- Knowledge of modern coaching methods, player development pathways, and safeguarding best practices.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and manage diverse teams, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Relevant coaching certifications or qualifications in basketball or sports coaching; higher-level licenses are an advantage.
