How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The role:

    The role involves conducting in vitro cell based and biochemical assays for clients and research projects, analysing data generated from assays and preparing written reports for in vitro/ biomarker studies. It also involves performing tissue culture for in vitro studies. The holder of the role will also contribute to the running of the in vitro/ biomarker lab.


    Responsibilities:

    • Perform a range of biomarker assays and cell based in vitro assays to contribute to client studies
    • The preparation of written study reports for in vitro studies
    • Perform tissue culture and expand cells appropriately to be used for in vitro and in vivo studies
    • To liaise with other departments to schedule in work to fit in with deadlines
    • To identify problems associated with their experiments and discuss and agree solutions with supervisor and other team members
    • To be responsible for and ensure that the results of experiments are recorded accurately in a timely fashion to the required standard
    • To effectively communicate results to other members of the team or other functions as required
    • To learn and apply new scientific methods and show self-awareness regarding personal and technical training needs
    • To maintain an awareness of current developments in the scientific literature


    Skills and requirements:

    • BSc or equivalent in relevant subject
    • Strong understanding of cell-based in vitro assays
    • Ability to perform cell based assays accurately and reproducibly
    • Significant experience of Western Blot, qPCR, histology, and ELISA
    • Good aseptic cell culture techniques
    • Experience of working in ISO 9001 environment desirable
    • Flow cytometry experience desired but not essential
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and GraphPad Prism
