How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Contentious Construction Associate

    2-6 PQE

    London / Hybrid

A highly regarded law firm is looking to add a talented Contentious Construction Associate to its established and well-respected Construction team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a practice recognised for handling complex, high-value construction disputes on behalf of a diverse client base that includes developers, contractors, consultants, funders and public sector organisations.

You'll advise on a broad range of contentious matters, including adjudication, litigation, arbitration and other forms of dispute resolution arising from major construction and engineering projects.

Associates are encouraged to develop their own client relationships and play an active role in business development, with genuine opportunities for career progression.

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Between 2-6 years' PQE (applications outside this range will also be considered)
    • Strong experience in contentious construction matters gained at a respected regional, national or international firm
    • Experience of adjudication, litigation and/or arbitration
    • Excellent drafting, analytical and client management skills
    • A commercial approach and a genuine interest in construction disputes

    In return, you'll benefit from:

    • High-quality, complex and varied contentious construction work
    • A supportive and collegiate team environment
    • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
    • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements
    • Clear opportunities for progression within a well-ranked and growing practice

If you're a contentious construction lawyer looking to take the next step in your career with a firm that is recognised for the quality of its work and investment in its people, I'd be pleased to discuss this opportunity in confidence - charlottecollen@maplegal.co.uk
