How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We're working with a growing specialist insurer seeking a Claims Adjuster to join its collaborative claims team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with London Market experience who is looking to further develop their expertise in Marine claims while also gaining exposure to other specialty classes.

You'll be responsible for handling a varied portfolio of claims from first notification through to settlement, ensuring each claim is managed efficiently. The role offers broad exposure, working alongside underwriters, brokers, loss adjusters and legal advisers to deliver positive outcomes for clients and stakeholders.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Managing a portfolio of Marine and specialty claims through the full claims lifecycle.
    • Assessing policy coverage, liability and quantum to determine appropriate claims outcomes.
    • Setting and reviewing reserves, authorising payments and maintaining accurate claims records.
    • Working closely with brokers, insureds and external experts to investigate and resolve claims efficiently.
    • Identifying recovery and subrogation opportunities where appropriate.
    • Providing claims insight to underwriting teams and contributing to portfolio reviews and market discussions.
    • Supporting process improvements and helping shape a high-performing claims function.

We're keen to speak with candidates who have London Market claims experience, with exposure to Marine business. You'll have strong technical judgement, excellent stakeholder management skills and a proactive approach to problem solving. Experience of subscription market claims, ECF or delegated authority arrangements would be beneficial but is not essential.

In return, you'll join a business that is investing in its claims function and offers genuine opportunities to broaden your technical knowledge, develop your career and progress within a specialist market environment.
