Legal Assistant – Private Client
Location: Warrington
Hours: 9:00am – 5:15pm, Monday to Friday (Office Based)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
The Firm
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and proactive Legal Assistant to join our friendly, well-established Private Client team in Warrington.

The Role
Working closely with our Private Client fee earners, you will play a key role in ensuring matters progress efficiently while providing excellent support to clients and colleagues.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Handling enquiries from clients, solicitors and other third parties.
- Providing client updates and monitoring the progression of matters.
- Opening and closing files on the case management system in accordance with AML requirements, quality standards and SRA regulations.
- Assisting with the drafting of routine correspondence, legal forms and documents under supervision.
- Preparing and submitting applications and legal documents to the Probate Registry, HMRC, Certainty and other relevant organisations.
- Organising, securely storing and releasing Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Grants of Probate and other legal documents.
- Registering Wills with Certainty and carrying out relevant searches.
- Maintaining fee earners' diaries, appointments, calendars and contact lists.
- Monitoring key dates and deadlines.
- Preparing bills, processing payments and receipts, and liaising with the finance team.
- Preparing Estate Accounts using Microsoft Excel.
- Handling overflow telephone calls and delivering excellent client service.
- Providing reception cover when required.
- Preparing banking and post.
- Undertaking general administrative duties and supporting the wider office as needed.
About You
We are looking for someone who is organised, detail-oriented and enjoys working as part of a team.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary, preferably within Private Client.
- A good understanding of the day-to-day operations of a legal office.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience using case management software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a busy environment.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A professional, positive and client-focused approach.
