How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    NQ Personal Injury Solicitor (Marine and Shipping)

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Newly Qualified Solicitor to join a highly regarded litigation team with an established reputation for handling complex defendant insurance and personal injury matters. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious NQ looking to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.


    The successful candidate will initially join the Personal Injury team, gaining exposure to a broad range of high-quality litigation while benefiting from structured training and mentoring. As your experience develops, there will be the opportunity to transition into the firm's specialist Marine & Shipping practice, working on complex and often international maritime claims.


    The Role

    You will work alongside experienced litigators on a varied caseload, including:

    • Defendant personal injury claims.
    • Employer's and public liability matters.
    • Catastrophic injury and fatal accident claims.
    • Complex insurance and liability disputes.
    • Advising insurer and commercial clients.
    • Building the knowledge and expertise required to progress into the specialist Marine & Shipping team.


    This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys litigation and is looking to develop a long-term career within a niche and highly respected area of law.


    About You

    The successful candidate will:

    • Be a Newly Qualified Solicitor or due to qualify shortly.
    • Have completed a seat in Personal Injury, Defendant Insurance, Clinical Negligence or another litigation discipline.
    • Possess strong analytical, drafting and communication skills.
    • Have a genuine interest in developing specialist expertise within Marine & Shipping law over time.
    • Be proactive, commercially minded and enjoy working collaboratively within a team.


    No previous Marine & Shipping experience is required. Candidates with strong litigation skills and an interest in developing into this specialist area are encouraged to apply.
