Fire Alarm Engineer - Key Responsibilities
* Routine Servicing: Perform planned preventative maintenance on conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
* Fault Finding: Diagnose and repair electrical issues, device failures, or panel errors.
* Installation & Small Works: Fit new loops, sounders, call points, or complete full system commissioning.
* Compliance Testing: Check emergency lighting and fire suppression interfaces.
* Documentation: Complete accurate service sheets, certificates, and logbook updates.
* Call-Out: urgent reactive callouts sometimes required.
Fire Alarm Engineer - Requirements and Qualifications
* Experience: Proven field background in fire alarm maintenance or installation.
* Standards Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of BS 5839 and related health and safety rules.
* DBS - Fire alarm engineers preferably need to be DBS checked and dependant on work offered will require an enhanced DBS if offered Schools etc.
* Licence: Full valid driving licence.
* Certifications: Fire Industry Association (FIA) modules or equivalent trade qualifications.
* Skills: All Fire alarm engineer applicants need to have, good problem-solving abilities and clear customer communication.
