How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Summary
We are looking for a confident, self-motivated Sales Executive to join our Cheltenham showroom on a short-term, fixed-term contract.
This is a standalone, lone-working role, ideal for someone who is comfortable taking ownership of a showroom, working independently and actively engaging with customers to drive sales.
For this period, the showroom will have a strong focus on selling existing display and clearance stock on a sold-as-seen basis. We therefore need someone who can quickly build rapport with customers, confidently sell face-to-face, negotiate where appropriate and turn interest into sales.
This is very much a hands-on sales position. You will be responsible for creating energy in the showroom, approaching and engaging customers, understanding what they are looking for and confidently closing business.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Take day-to-day ownership of the showroom while working independently
    * Proactively approach and engage every customer who visits the showroom
    * Sell existing showroom, display and clearance stock, including sold-as-seen items
    * Understand customer needs and confidently recommend suitable products
    * Demonstrate products and communicate their features, benefits and value
    * Negotiate and close sales confidently while working within agreed commercial guidelines
    * Follow up customer enquiries and sales opportunities by phone and email
    * Work towards individual sales targets and maximise every opportunity
    * Keep accurate records of customer enquiries, sales and follow-up activity
    * Process sales and ensure customer information and orders are recorded correctly
    * Maintain a professional, welcoming and commercially focused showroom environment
    * Ensure sold stock is clearly identified and showroom displays remain organised
    * Provide excellent customer service from initial enquiry through to purchase
    * Communicate regularly with the wider business and flag any issues requiring support
    About You
We are looking for someone who is naturally confident, independent and commercially minded.
You will need to be comfortable working alone for much of the day and taking responsibility for the showroom without needing constant direction or supervision.
    Ideally, you will have:
    * Proven experience in retail, showroom or face-to-face sales
    * A strong track record of converting customer enquiries into sales
    * Confidence approaching customers and starting conversations
    * The ability to build rapport quickly and understand what motivates a customer to buy
    * Strong closing and negotiation skills
    * A proactive attitude, you won't wait for customers to come to you
    * The confidence and maturity to work alone and manage your own day
    * Excellent communication and customer service skills
    * Good organisation and attention to detail
    * Basic confidence using computer systems, email and CRM/order systems
    * Experience selling furniture, interiors, homeware, luxury products or other considered purchases would be advantageous, but isn't essential
    The Contract
This is a fixed-term position designed to support the business through a short trading period. We are looking for someone who can come in, get up to speed quickly and make an immediate commercial impact.
It would particularly suit an experienced salesperson who enjoys independence, is comfortable taking ownership and gets genuine satisfaction from engaging customers and closing sales.
If you're confident working on your own, know how to create a great customer experience and, most importantly, know how to sell, we'd love to hear from you.
