How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Help us to make a world of difference

Urenco is a global leader in the production of low carbon energy, playing a critical role in delivering secure, reliable nuclear fuel solutions worldwide. We are focused on enabling the sustainable generation of electricity for customers around the world, while operating within the highest environmental, social and regulatory standards.

In addition, as part of a strategically important industry, Urenco is now required to support the UK Government in exploring options to re-establish nuclear fuel capabilities to produce reactor fuel for defence purposes.

To support this new project, we are seeking a Programme Manager to join our Capenhurst site. In this role, you will work within our government services function as a key interface between site teams and Group stakeholders to ensure effective planning, coordination and delivery across complex programmes.

In this role, you will drive collaboration and alignment across multiple functions, ensuring activities, resources and priorities are coordinated to achieve programme objectives. Your leadership will help enable the successful delivery of new business opportunities and facilities that support both Urenco’s long-term strategy and national priorities.

At Urenco, we're committed to helping our people reach their full potential. If you don't meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply. We invest in industry-leading development, with access to training, mentoring and coaching to support your growth and career progression.

    What you'll do

    Strategic Programme Leadership

Lead the integration of strategic projects and workstreams to ensure programme objectives are delivered safely on time and within budget.
Define, monitor and drive the achievement of strategic and economic programme benefits.
Develop and implement programme management processes, procedures and best practice.
Act as the programme Subject Matter Expert and primary point of contact.
Manage internal, contractor and consultancy resources as required.
    Programme Management & Governance

Work closely with Group Projects, Programme Management Office and Government Contracts teams to establish effective programme management processes and interfaces with existing project delivery frameworks.
Ensure robust governance, controls and reporting structures are in place to support successful programme execution.
    Stakeholder Management & Reporting

Lead the production of programme reporting, including status updates, progress reviews, Steering Committees and Executive Committee submissions.
Provide clear and timely executive-level reporting, escalating key decisions, risks and issues with supporting recommendations.
Foster strong cross-functional relationships, promoting collaboration and alignment across all levels of the organisation.
Ensure reporting is accurate, consistent and aligned across all stakeholder groups.
Be able to interface with the external client, particularly on programme and technical topics, working closely with the project organisation and government contract managers.
    Programme Integration & Delivery

Act on behalf of the Project Sponsor to ensure key accountabilities are effectively managed and informed decision-making is supported.
Coordinate and align programme activities across multiple stakeholders and internal groups.
Identify and resolve cross-functional issues early to maintain programme momentum and delivery performance.
Coordinate critical enabling activities and specialist support where required.
Support the Project Sponsor, Project Manager and Site teams in the successful integration and delivery of the overall programme.
What do you need to thrive in this role?

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Degree-qualified or equivalent relevant experience.
    Project and/or Programme Management qualification.
    Fluent written and spoken English.
Ability to obtain and maintain the required level of security clearance.
    Experience & Skills

Significant experience leading complex strategic programmes, including the delivery of programmes exceeding £100m in value.
Strong project and programme delivery expertise.
Experience developing and tracking performance metrics and reporting.
Excellent strategic, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Proven ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively across diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.
Demonstrated success in identifying and resolving cross-functional challenges within complex programme environments.
What can you expect from us?

More than just a job, we offer a future. More than just a place to work, we provide an opportunity to prosper.  As an employee of Urenco you will receive:

Generous Annual Leave: Starting at 25 days, increasing by one day every two years (up to 30 days), plus 13 additional flexible days. Option to buy or sell up to 5 holiday days.
Family-Friendly Policies: A wide range of policies to support work-life balance and family needs.
Bonus Scheme: A competitive bonus scheme based on company and individual performance.
Pension Scheme: Defined contribution plan with up to 16% employer contribution.
Private Medical & Dental Cover: Single coverage with the option to purchase additional benefits.
Flexible Benefits: Life assurance, income protection, and other options tailored to your lifestyle, with tax and National Insurance savings.
Training & Development: A focus on continuous learning, with personalised training packages to support your career growth, including mandatory health and safety courses.
    Security Vetting

Due to the nature of the industry that Urenco operates in, all personnel regardless of employment status working for Urenco are required to obtain security clearance at the level required for their role. Security clearances are assessed in accordance with regulations and official guidance issued by the relevant competent authorities for national security vetting.

In certain circumstances, additional enhanced security clearance considerations apply to roles within Urenco owing to the particular activities that the Urenco Group undertakes in relation to uranium enrichment. Successful candidates will need to satisfy security requirements, and all offers of appointment are made subject to the successful approval of all checks initiated.

Creating a diverse and inclusive workforce

As a truly global company with a presence in the UK, USA, Germany, and the Netherlands, we know that our individual differences make us stronger. Putting people at the heart of our business, we strive to create an open and inclusive workplace that allows every voice to be heard and diversity to thrive. If you require any reasonable adjustments to the recruitment process, please let our talent acquisition team know.

Because together, we are one Urenco. We are enriching the world. And enriching your future
