How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An established manufacturing and engineering business is seeking an experienced QHSE & Compliance Manager to join its leadership team.
This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing Quality, Compliance, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) activities across the business. Working closely with senior management and operational teams, you will ensure compliance with relevant legislation, customer requirements and recognised management system standards while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
You will play a pivotal role in maintaining and developing robust management systems, mitigating business risk and embedding a proactive culture of quality, compliance and safety throughout the organisation.
This opportunity would suit an established QHSE Manager or someone operating at a senior level within Quality, Compliance or HSE who has been involved in the strategic aspects of QHSE management and is ready to take the next step into a broader leadership position.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Lead the company's Quality, Compliance, Health, Safety and Environmental function.
    * Maintain and continuously improve the organisation's integrated management systems, ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
    * Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, customer expectations and industry best practice.
    * Plan, coordinate and support internal and external audits, including certification audits, driving effective corrective and preventative actions.
    * Provide expert guidance to senior management on quality, compliance, regulatory requirements and operational risk.
    * Develop, review and maintain company policies, procedures, risk assessments and compliance documentation.
    * Monitor changes in legislation and industry standards, ensuring the business remains compliant and prepared for future requirements.
    * Analyse quality performance, compliance metrics and KPI data, identifying opportunities to improve operational performance.
    * Support supplier quality and compliance activities, ensuring robust standards are maintained throughout the supply chain.
    * Work collaboratively with production and operational teams to improve processes, reduce risk and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
    * Deliver training, promote best practice and foster a positive culture of quality, compliance, health, safety and environmental responsibility.
    About You
    The successful candidate will have:
    * Previous experience within a Quality, Compliance, QHSE or HSE role in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
    * Demonstrable experience managing or supporting ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
    * Experience preparing for and supporting internal, external and certification audits.
    * A strong understanding of quality management principles, regulatory compliance, governance and continuous improvement methodologies.
    * Sound knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and environmental compliance requirements.
    * Experience managing corrective actions, root cause analysis and process improvements.
    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
    * A proactive approach to problem-solving and driving a positive compliance culture.
Applications are welcomed from experienced QHSE Managers as well as ambitious Quality, Compliance or HSE professionals who have had exposure to the strategic side of QHSE management and are looking to step into a broader leadership role.
Experience within manufacturing, engineering, precision engineering or other regulated industries would be advantageous but is not essential.
    What's on Offer
    * Salary of up to £50,000 per annum.
    * Permanent, full-time position.
    * The opportunity to join an established and growing manufacturing business.
    * A senior role with autonomy to influence QHSE strategy, strengthen compliance and drive continuous improvement across the organisation.
    * Long-term career development and progression opportunities
