How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Engineer - Earthworks

    Sizewell C, Suffolk | Competitive Day Rate

    Join One of the UK's Most Significant Infrastructure Projects

    East Anglian Site Engineering is recruiting an experienced Senior Engineer - Earthworks to support the delivery of a major earthworks package on the landmark Sizewell C project.

    This project is expected to last a minimum of 2 years with strong possibility for future work.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a driven civil engineering professional to take a leading role in the delivery of large-scale earthworks operations, managing engineering resources, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme requirements.

    Working closely with Construction Managers, Project Managers, Site Engineers and Quality teams, you will be responsible for coordinating engineering activities, managing key project information and driving delivery across your section of works.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead, mentor and coordinate a team of Site Engineers and QA Engineers.

    * Oversee day-to-day engineering activities across earthworks operations.

    * Ensure all engineering information, drawings and documentation are current, accurate and issued to site teams.

    * Manage the flow of technical information between construction, planning and engineering teams.

    * Attend and contribute to planning, coordination and process meetings.

    * Review and manage the 3-week look-ahead programme, ensuring engineering readiness for upcoming works.

    * Monitor progress against programme and identify potential risks to delivery.

    * Ensure setting out and surveying activities are completed accurately and in accordance with project requirements.

    * Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.

    * Ensure inspection and test plans (ITPs), quality records and as-built documentation are completed and maintained.

    * Support the implementation of quality assurance processes and ensure project records remain up to date.

    * Liaise with designers, surveyors, subcontractors and client representatives as required.

    * Prepare engineering reports, site records and progress updates for management teams.

    About You

    To be successful in this role, you will have:

    * Previous experience as a Senior Engineer, Section Engineer or experienced Site Engineer within civil engineering or earthworks projects.

    * Strong understanding of earthworks construction methods and engineering controls.

    * Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.

    * Excellent knowledge of setting out, surveying and quality assurance procedures.

    * Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and construction documentation.

    * Experience contributing to project planning and programme management.

    * Competence with engineering software and digital documentation systems.

    * CSCS Card and relevant engineering qualifications.

    * Safety Critical Medical required

    * Full UK Driving Licence
